Touch-A-Truck is an educational community event that provides children with hands-on opportunities to see and touch heavy machinery and meet the people who build, protect and serve Johnston County communities. Proceeds from this annual fall fundraiser benefit a non-profit community agency that renders services within Johnston County through one of our Community Impact Grants.

The 5th Annual Touch-A-Truck event was impacted by COVID-19. Though we couldn't touch our favorite trucks, we COULD fill a truck full of diapers to support the Partnership for Children of Johnston County! We collected over 31,000 diapers, as well as wipes and diaper creams, and gave PFCJC a grant award of $12,000 to assist them in the creation of a diaper closet for families in need, the first in Johnston County.

The County and the towns of Benson, Clayton, Four Oaks, Princeton, Smithfield and Wilson’s Mills issued proclamations declaring October Diaper Need Awareness month, bringing further attention to a profound issue that many people in Johnston County struggle with.
