MAKING A BIG DIFFERENCE:

Proceeds help the Junior Women's League of Smithfield to fund league initiatives in Johnston County. Our most notable project is building, stocking, and maintaining the Blessing Boxes present at every major fire station in Johnston County. These boxes help address our county's serious food insecurity issue by providing free food and hygiene products to those in need.

JWL also awards community impact grants to non-profits in need of aid, funds annual college scholarships, participates in the annual coat drive for the children at Partnership for Children and My Kid's Club, hosts educational events like Ask a Farm(Her), which brought in a panel of female farmers to help educate the community on the ins and outs of the farming industry, and Friends of the League, where more than a dozen nonprofits from across Johnston County network and connect with the public and share their sustainable, service-driven solutions to problems impacting citizens in our local communities.
